Gee, It Wasn't Bad At All - The G Tower, Kuala Lumpur

We stayed at this hotel in November 2012 for a couple of nights as we had a department "away day."

The rooms were definitely spacious, comfortable, modern and quite well appointed. Bathroom amenities were very nice, big comfy beds with pillow choices which was a plus point. Frankly, there's nothing to complain about the rooms at all, save for the wifi access which was a tad slow.

As the hotel is situated within an office tower, it made access to the hotel a tad confusing and signages were not really clear. In addition, though we didn't get to enjoy the pool, we did notice that it's situated on the same floor as the reception area and it was a weird plan as everyone is able to watch people swimming or tanning. I for one would've been uncomfortable if "fully attired" guests were watching the lot of us in skimpy swimsuits mucking about the pool.

Staff were friendly enough with considerably prompt service at the reception. Staff managing the function rooms that we used were equally helpful and catered to our varied requests for either additional facilities, stationery or to help manage the AV. F&B specially arranged for us in the function rooms for breakfast, breaks and a dinner were all quite tasty so we assumed that if we had meals at the normal area designated for guests, we won't be disappointed.

A plus point for this hotel is that the price is still reasonable for a hotel near the Twin Towers which is considered a prime address - we hope there won't be a price revision! It's situated very near an LRT station, bus and cab stops so you wouldn't have to worry about getting around. But again, the weird access prevails - if you're driving, the entrance to the hotel/building which would normally be just before the building is quite the other way around. One would have to pass the building first before driving in where exits are normally planned. That's a minor issue though.

All in, we'd definitely return especially if we need more department away days as we were really happy with the location, service and facilities. We certainly hope that the management continues to ensure that the standards, facilities, service are maintained!

Oh, do ask the staff about how they had refurbished this building - it's really quite an interesting story and a sustainable idea too!

(they recycled some wood and turned them into walls)
