Customer Experience Redefined - Tanjong Jara Resort, Terengganu


From the moment we picked up the phone to make a reservation right up to our departure from the resort, the entire Tanjong Jara team had left us with no chance at all to experience anything remotely awful. As far as hospitality goes, the Tanjong Jara team lived up to their brand promise and provided us with a superb experience that would guarantee our return in the (hopefully near!) future. Compared to other resorts and hotels, we dare say that Tanjong Jara's team, by far, provided the best hospitality to their customers. The Team redefined customer experience for us. 

Though we made a reservation for the Serambi Seaview, we were given a complementary upgrade to the Anjung Room upon arrival (we like the gong announcement, by the way!). First, the arrival. Pak Aksah greeted us at our car and immediately informed the hubs where we could park our car. Three of the reception staff came out to greet us and one of them took luggage while the other two escorted me to the waiting lounge. Felt like a VIP already! After swift check-in accompanied by a cool welcome drink, we were then escorted to our room via a little "tour" of the grounds. Nice. 

Boy, what an upgrade! The Anjung Room was absolutely perfect and made our birthday/anniversary celebration even more special for us as it was luxurious by our standards. The King bed was super comfy with plush pillows and who can argue with a large space for us to run around in if we wanted to (without banging into furniture!). It was huge enough that we almost had to holler to each other from the living area to the bathroom! 

Though we didn't get a chance to try out the Teratai, both the Nelayan and Di Atas Sungei restaurants served up a feast and with the package that we opted, each meal was superb and the serving portions, generous. We needed breaks in between the courses! 

We wished we could've tried the spa but our visit was too short. Nevertheless, the very brief chat we had with the spa managers promised us a pampering experience and we certainly look forward to that next time! 

We'd like to thank Badizza and Fadila whose patience had started us off on this journey; Gin, Kumar and Krish whose attentiveness had ensured us of an extremely enjoyable stay - and Gin, thanks again for the surprise Anniversary / Birthday cake for us!! - Fezah (we hope we got her name right) who kept our room clean and comfy; Pak Aksah who made sure that our valuables were not left in the car each time we returned from our outing; Capt Mokh - simply because he stopped what he was doing just to have a brief chat with us; the ladies and gentlemen at both Di Atas Sungei and Nelayan Restaurants who made sure that we always get tables with a view and served up unforgettable meals; and last but not least all the other friendly staff with perpetual smiles on their faces - even if they were tired from a day's work in the heat, they stopped whatever they were working on just to say hello to us.

On departure, Tanjong Jara gave us three "gongs." So, from us to the Tanjong Jara Team - Five Gongs and melodies from the Gamelan!! :)
