It's Good but It Can be Great - Pulai Springs Resort

We stayed at the resort during the Hari Raya festive week in 2011. Check in was a breeze. We had the four bedroom apartment, which was an advantage to Pulai Springs Resort because no other places in Johor offered apartments with that many rooms!

The apartment itself was basic. A little of a disappointment because from the exterior and the website, it really looked modern and very promising. It's not shabby but one can tell that the furniture will easily be worn out after a few more families! They should seriously think of investing in better quality furniture.

While the apartment was equipped with a kitchenette, there were no crockeries, cookware, utensils, nor a microwave. Why waste all that space then? However, upon entering the room, the bellman did explain that if we had one of our own, we could use it. Errr, we didn't know how to respond to that!!

Bathrooms are nicely tiled but again, the finishings could've also been better. For what we had paid, it would've been nice to get soaps and shampoos a notch above "cheap".

Breakfast was uneventful. While the fare was good, again, the management could really do much, much better to win them rave reviews from customers.

All said, we could see that the resort team made extra efforts to welcome guests and make them feel comfortable. Staff were really, really friendly and helpful. Each day our rooms were efficiently cleaned and more than enough towels and amenities replenished without having to ask for more.

To the resort management, we wouldn't mind going back there to stay again but it'd make us proud as Johoreans if the hotel can be maintained if not upgraded up to international standards.

By the way, next time, we WILL bring our own microwave oven, if you insist.

Note : There's another post on the same hotel for our visit in 2013.... wait for it....
